Join Bellingham ceramic artist Erica Davidson in this porcelain luminary workshop. We will learn about throwing, surface designing and carving porcelain. Erica will demo throwing porcelain luminaries and then you will get the chance to practice throwing with porcelain which you will be able to trim and carve later. We will then shift gears and work on surface design and carve leatherhard luminaries using underglaze, sgraffito and different types of carving. Porcelain, leatherhard porcelain luminaries and underglazes will be provided as some tools for carving but feel free to bring your own tools to work with as well.
